It's time for a break
Ran the Soldier Field 10 mile today. I always look forward to this race but this year I'm not in the best shape. I pulled my hamstring, which takes forever to heal. And I have a pinched nerve in my neck (actually my trapezius which is basically your neck and shoulders). So I've been stiff all week and I'm pretty sure the 2 are related. My time was terrible, probably the slowest of all the soldier field races I've run. But I made it. I plan to relax the next month until training starts. Lots of stretching and icing everything. After 4 marathons, I think I've learned my lesson. MORE stretching. MORE water. MORE taking care of my body. Marathon number 5: you will be my Everest.
