A history of Chicago. And SNL.

I woke up to more snow this morning. Morning actually being 11:30am since I stayed up too late. I marched through the snow to The Bagel and Intelligentsia for my new Sunday ritual of a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and a latte. Then I had to get showered and changed to meet my buddy at the Chicago History Museum. Some really interesting and cool dioramas of the Great Chicago Fire and just the layout of the city. The best parts were a model of an actual old school CTA train and a small Vivian Maier exhibit. On the other hand, many exhibits need to be updated liiiiiike updated since 2005. Yikes. Lots of work to do, history museum.
Ended the day watching the SNL40 special. So much fun. Some rough patches, just like any other SNL episode but still great. I have to admit, I got teary during the "in memoriam" part and also watching audition tapes. So proud of all the Chicago peeps who have made it to that show. So much talent in this city, it's insane.

Watch Martin Short's opening and then skip to 12:15 to see Bill Murray sing Jaws. BRILLIANT.
