Nom nom nom
Today was all about food, yummy yummy food. After working to feel ok about eating this food, I met Kyna at Bang Bang Pie, which I've been meaning to try forever. they also have all kinds of other southern eats. I had a side of grits and a slice of Maple Bourbon Pecan pie. Ohhhh myyy gooooodness. Very very good and rich and flavorful. Then we headed to Cup and Spoon to keep using up our coffee indie passport. I looked up what neighborhood it's technically in (North Ave and Western). It's just east of Humboldt Park, just north of Noble Square, and just west of Wicker Park. Soooo, it's in West Town. Yes, that is a real place. I liked it because it's in a hipstery area without the hipster vibe. Really cute place to hang out. Then I met up with Annie at Bar Pastoral, she had wine and I tried the Begyle Brewing Free Bird Pale Ale. Then we shared a cheese plate with gouda, a brick spread, and goat cheese. Each was paired with a honey or jam and the order came with a warm loaf of sourdough. It may look tiny but cheese is very filling and it was delicious. Our server was really friendly and fun. Go try this place! They also have a regular dinner menu, it was just a little too pricey for us tonight and we were only in the mood for a snack. They also have a shop next door where you can purchase cheese, honey, etc etc. Check it out!
